Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Logistics Clerk to join our export logistics team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build a career in international trade, freight forwarding, and export administration.
The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training while assisting with export documentation, shipment coordination, customs processes, and general logistics administration
Please note this is not a warehouse or fleet management role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of export documentation using the Easyclear Cloud system.
- Support the classification of goods using HS/Commodity Codes.
- Assist with export documentation for vehicle shipments.
- Process VOC applications and supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with the preparation and issuing of SADC Certificates.
- Coordinate Bureau Veritas inspections for export cargo.
- Prepare and maintain Commercial Invoices and Packing Lists.
- Assist with booking road freight, sea freight, airfreight, and courier shipments.
- Coordinate container rentals and purchases when required.
- Liaise with clearing agents, transporters, and other service providers.
- Monitor and track shipments and provide updates to customers and management.
- Assist in resolving shipment and border-post-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and perform general administrative duties, including scanning, filing, printing, and document management.
- Ensure all logistics records are kept up to date and filed correctly.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding, International Trade, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Matric with mathematics
- English first language
- 0–2 years' work experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or a related environment.
- Knowledge of export procedures and international trade principles will be advantageous.
- Exposure to Easyclear or similar customs clearing systems will be beneficial but is not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
