Job Description

The Manager, Training and Development will provide leadership across all practice areas to understand and articulate the knowledge and training needs of the organization.  To do so, the Manager, Training and Development will take a consultative approach by partnering with appropriate stakeholders to assess skill gaps and needs, develop a best practices framework for designing and delivering training and effectively communicate the approach for implementation.  Specifically, the Manager, Training and Development will lead the build of the Hitachi Skills Development Network (HSDN) and be charged with creating, acquiring, and disseminating training; maintaining a high-quality, current database of knowledge; as well as, enhancing employees’ skills, performance, productivity, processes and quality of work


  • Collaborate with Hitachi resources to identify knowledge and training needs; assess future skill gaps
    Define and train on best practices for producing training content internally and for clients
    Review and approve of certain training requests by team members
    Review and approve of established skill proficiency levels for team members
    Assist team members with developing skill plans
    Help accelerate the expansion of the HSDN across all Hitachi Solutions practices and regions
    Determine potential commercial opportunities to bundle and sell Hitachi produced training content to clients
    Remain up-to-date on industry best practices and apply new innovative approaches to developing employees and implementing training programs 
    Be the subject matter expert and project leader in the coordination, logistics, and communication of training and development
    Collaborate and consult with Senior Management to identify areas for development and improvement amongst team members and leadership
    Develop and facilitate company learning and career development programs for individuals at all levels
    Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators/ ROI to measure the success of training initiatives 
    Collaborate with all functional areas of the business to ensure effective knowledge sharing and participation in the evolution of service offerings and related products
    Manage, propose and implement all learning and development programs and strategies
    Develop and maintain continual education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed
    Continually evaluate training progress and training procedure to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed
    Ongoing administration of the HSDN program, process, and toolset
    Tracking of certifications required for Gold status in Microsoft Partner Program 


Qualifications

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree required in education, human resources or relevant discipline and, at least five years of progressive experience in a training manager role; preferably in technology services and/or consulting

  • Proven experience in designing and executing successful training programs solutions in all channels of learning design (virtual classroom, e-learning, mobile, social, video)
  • Solid understanding of adult learning theories, practices and training methods
  • Advanced critical thinker and problem solver as it relates to management leadership and best practices in organizational processes
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System features including course structures and settings, permissions, reporting, and administration best practices
  • ·Ability to manage concurrent requirements from multiple stakeholders and prioritize effectively
  • Strong Project Management skills with ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence and establish credibility and trust
  • Persuasive and confident communicator/ presenter/ public speaker
