Job Description

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Technical Lead who thrives at the intersection of architecture, hands-on development, and technical leadership. This is a highly impactful role where you’ll guide critical technical initiatives from idea to production, shaping the future of human interaction software used by enterprise customers around the world.

If you love building scalable SaaS systems, solving meaningful engineering challenges, and leading by example — we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As a Technical Lead, you’ll take ownership of high-impact initiatives and drive them from inception to the hands of our users. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring we deliver quality software in a timely, predictable way.

You will:

  • Lead the design and development of key HireVue platform capabilities

  • Architect scalable, resilient solutions for our enterprise-level chatbot and communication systems

  • Write high-quality, production-ready code and contribute meaningfully across the codebase

  • Own complex system and integration challenges and drive them to resolution

  • Continuously evaluate technical decisions through the lens of ROI and long-term sustainability

  • Identify and prioritize technical debt reduction opportunities

  • Ensure strong automated testing practices across the test pyramid

  • Share knowledge across teams through documentation, mentorship, and technical presentations

  • Partner closely with Product and UX to design solutions that deliver measurable business value and exceptional user experiences

  • Guide and mentor engineers, delegating effectively and enabling team success

What You’ll Work On

You’ll help build our cutting-edge human interaction platform — including enterprise chatbot software that enables companies to:

  • Engage candidates in real-time

  • Improve post-hire performance engagement

  • Deliver personalized communication across chat, email, messaging, and more

  • Help candidates land their dream jobs

You’ll own domain and product areas, ensuring seamless and effective communication experiences for both candidates and customers.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep engineering experience — 8+ years building software (12+ preferred), including time spent leading technical initiatives and guiding other engineers

  • Cloud architecture expertise — You know how to design scalable, reliable, and cost-effective systems in AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, Lambda, Fargate)

  • Modern full-stack strength — Comfortable across Node.js, TypeScript, React, REST APIs, and backend frameworks like Python/Django or .NET/C#

  • Microservices & containers know-how — Experience with distributed systems, Docker, and CI/CD best practices

  • Data fluency — Strong grasp of relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, DynamoDB), data modeling, and performance optimization

  • Machine learning exposure — Experience working with ML systems and services like Amazon SageMaker

  • Security mindset — Understanding of web and cloud security best practices

  • Collaborative leadership — Ability to partner effectively with Product, UX, and globally distributed teams

  • Credentials — A degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or ML Specialty)
