Job Description

The Senior Business Analytics Manager bridges the gap between raw data and strategic decisions, using data to support how we move forward as a business and prove ROI to our customers. This role requires taking complex, sometimes abstract, inputs and delivering simple and powerful outputs to diverse audiences.

As the leader of the Business Intelligence team, the Senior Business Analytics Manager owns the HireVue analytics roadmap, prioritizing projects with regard to impact and cost. This person must have the skills to understand both the day-to-day details of our analytics work as well as the high-level interpretation and proper messaging of results. They will help design how insights and recommendations are shared across the organization and with our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize impactful analytics opportunities and see them through hypothesis development, data collection/cleansing, executive presentations, and final business decisions.
  • Manage and mentor analysts across the company and evangelize data-driven decision making.
  • Anticipate data engineering and infrastructure needs and partner with engineering leads to develop requirements for these projects, communicate their relative importance, and help coordinate throughout the development phase.
  • Provide business insights and visualizations that explain the current state of our products, identify future opportunities, and validate value for our clients and product leaders.
  • Partner with various departments on our data strategy and make sure plans are in place to address relevant data gaps.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure data is being captured from third party tools (such as Salesforce, Zendesk, and Hubspot)
  • Work with Customer Success to make sure customer data requests are fulfilled and automated when applicable.
  • Synthesize job market trends and how they relate to HireVue trends.
  • Perform root cause analysis when issues occur, or improvements are stalled.
  • Manage ETL/ELT functions, solving problems independently or with the help of engineering if needed.
  • Partner with analysts around the company to leverage existing insights and documentation.
  • Design, build, and maintain business process and data documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years BI experience providing data analytics & consulting services, enabling business insights, designing data visualizations, and telling stories with data
  • 2+ years experience managing analysts and prioritizing analytics roadmaps
  • Expertise with data visualization methodology and tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Expertise with data querying and analysis languages and tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
  • Experience with data build tool (dbt) is a plus
  • Expertise with descriptive as well as predictive analytics
  • Proven success in developing hypotheses and analysis from both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent presentation and design skills, specifically written and verbal communication to an executive audience
  • Previous experience working with HR is a plus
