Job Description
About the Role
We're looking for a software developer who gets excited about solving real problems with clean, efficient code. You'll be joining our Product Engineering team to help build and scale the platform that thousands of businesses rely on every day.
This isn't about churning out tickets. You'll own features from concept to deployment, collaborate directly with designers and product managers, and have a real say in technical decisions. Whether you're refactoring legacy code or architecting something new, your work will directly impact how our users experience our product.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain features across our web application using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews with the team
- Collaborate with product and design to translate user needs into technical solutions
- Debug production issues and optimize application performance
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape our engineering practices
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the team
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks
- Experience with RESTful APIs and database design
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills—you can explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates
Nice to Have:
- Experience with React, Node.js, or PostgreSQL specifically
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Background in test-driven development
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience in a fast-growing startup environment
Additional Information
Our Culture in Three Words
Curiosity. Ownership. Humanity.
We're not interested in corporate theater or performative busy-work. We hire smart people, trust them to do great work, and give them the freedom to figure out how. Meetings have agendas. Decisions get made quickly. And if something isn't working, we change it—no sacred cows.
How We Actually Work
Async-first communication
We document decisions, use Slack thoughtfully, and don't expect instant responses. Deep work > constant pings.
No BS meetings
Every meeting needs an agenda and a clear purpose. Our "No Meeting Wednesdays" are sacred. Most teams have 5-10 hours of meetings per week, max.
Transparent by default
Company financials, board meeting notes, salary bands—it's all available internally. We believe adults deserve context for the decisions that affect them.
Feedback goes both ways
Monthly 1:1s, quarterly 360 reviews, and an anonymous feedback system. Leadership actually reads and responds to every piece of feedback.
Time Off & Flexibility
Unlimited PTO (for real)
No tracking, no approval chains for trips under two weeks. The team average is 4-5 weeks per year—and we encourage you to use it.
Sabbatical program
After 5 years, take a paid month off to travel, learn something new, or do absolutely nothing.
Parental leave
16 weeks fully paid for all parents. And we mean all parents—birth, adoption, surrogacy, foster.
