Pavilion Entertainment a new media company incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. It is dedicated to the original production of media projects and the regional distribution of both original and franchise programming.

Job Description
The Costume Design Assistant will support the Costume Designer during the production. Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:
• Help Costume Designers break down the script to assess how many characters there are, what costumes needed and analyse individual character plots
• Research costume styles, designs and construction methods suitable for the time period
• Help develop the departmental budget, estimating the costs of staff and resources, and of hiring, buying and making costumes
• Prepare overall production schedules, as well as work on day-to-day breakdowns of responsibilities
• Purchase costumes and accessories, and swatch (sample) fabrics for the Designer
• Pre-select costumes for Designers to view, making sure there are several options for each outfit.
• Oversee fittings for crowds or extras
• Manage the transportation of the wardrobe to sets or locations
• Carry out any last-minute alterations or repairs
Qualifications
Qualifications and competencies include:
• Bachelor degree in Fashion, Costume Design or Costume Interpretation or at least 3 years’ related experience
• Some experience working with costumes in theatre or television preferable
• Strong foundation skills in ironing, steaming, adapting garments, dyeing, hand and machine sewing, alterations, pattern cutting and drawing
• Familiarity with costume budgets and estimate costs
• Knowledge of fabric qualities, clothing cuts, fits and techniques
• General knowledge of both costume history and contemporary fashion
• Keen memory
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Leadership and managerial skills
• Ability to cope with stress
• Creative problem-solving skills
