Pavilion Entertainment a new media company incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. It is dedicated to the original production of media projects and the regional distribution of both original and franchise programming.

Job Description

The Hairdresser will work on principal and supporting Actors, using detailed continuity notes and consulting with Heads of Department (either the Make-up and Hair Designer, or the Chief Hairdresser). Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:

• Prepare performers' hair and scalp in advance, noting any allergies or sensitivities and reporting them to appropriately qualified personnel

• Use chemical solutions to administer hair and scalp treatments

• Wash, cut, blow-dry and style hair to create specific designs

• Repair, alter and dress wigs and hairpieces

• Oversee hair continuity during shoots, accompanying performers onto set and ensuring that continuity notes are maintained by taking length measurements and photographs

• Wash out products from, and condition, performers' hair

• Ensure that wigs are cleaned and prepared for further use

• May be required to assist with any subsequent publicity shots

Qualifications

Key qualifications and competencies include:

• Certification/ license in Cosmetology 

• At least 5 years’ experience in commercials, fashion or television 

• Experience in theatre or with wig makers is preferable

• Hairdressing skills including: cutting, waving, straightening, colouring, perming, setting, applying extensions, braiding, shaving 

• Experience altering, setting, dressing, and applying wigs and hairpieces 

• Understanding of hair plots within the scripts

• Knowledge of period hair styles and contemporary look

• Keen eye for detail to oversee continuity 

• Excellent organisational skills 

• Knowledge of the Health and Safety laws and procedures when dealing with different substances, materials, and scalp reactions
