Job Description

Her Campus Media is seeking a Community Growth Lead who specializes in influencer and campus ambassador communities to join our team full-time. This person will play a critical role in strategizing and scaling our community recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and lead Her Campus Media’s day-to-day community growth strategy and execution, including but not limited to always-on inbound inquiries and strategic outbound recruitment efforts. Communities include: InfluenceHer Collective, College Fashionista, Campus Trendsetters, Her Campus Chapter Network, Spoon University Chapter Network, and their alumni groups and any other communities HCM may add

  • Oversee and manage Her Campus Media community member and chapter recruitment processes from start to finish, including executing strategic outbound recruitment tactics, processing and evaluating new member applications, interviewing prospective members, and onboarding newly accepted members

  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment materials and initiatives with an emphasis on conceptualizing each community’s unique voice and value proposition to appeal to diverse pools of prospective members, including but not limited to supporting campaign-specific recruitment, business needs, and special programming, such as the InfluenceHer Collective Awards, 22 Under 22, and recruitment at key schools, DMAs, and verticals

  • Gather and leverage data and analytics to continuously expand and optimize our processes and offerings, ensuring internal databases and tracking documents are updated with accurate community recruitment information

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with editorial, product & engineering, events, business development, and integrated marketing teams on Her Campus Media community recruitment objectives, providing key insights and industry expertise to help us win business 

  • Keep a pulse on college, Gen Z and influencer marketing trends with an eye toward enhancing and innovating Her Campus Media's community offerings and serving as an internal expert by developing new resources and conducting regular trainings with internal teams on best practices

  • Assist with special projects as needed, which may include supporting on the management and oversight of the Her Campus Media communities

  • Manage one or more part-time contractors with the possibility of future team growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or other college degree) preferred
  • 2-5 years of community recruitment and management or other related experience, such as at a brand and/or managing influencer and brand ambassador relationships and marketing programs 
  • Demonstrated strong interest and knowledge in the campus and influencer marketing industry and Gen Z as well as a pulse on trends in the space
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make decisions, liaise comfortably with external partners, talent managers, influencers/ambassadors, and manage relationships via email, on the phone and in person
  • Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail and eye for design
  • Superior organizational abilities
  • Self-starter with go-getter attitude, positive and upbeat nature, and excellent work ethic who is a team player and excited about working in a startup environment
  • Proficiency in social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram, as well as Mailchimp, Asana, Microsoft Office, Canva and Google Drive a plus

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, experience, and other factors.

Interview Process & Expectations

Our timeline is to make a hire as soon as possible. You can expect 3-4 rounds of interviews, including an initial phone screen and subsequent interviews with leaders on the Community & Campus/Influencer team as well as one of HCM’s Co-Founders. You will be asked to submit a short work sample to demonstrate your understanding and approach for this role.
