Job Description

The Senior Manager, Business Development & Sales will drive sales across Her Campus Media's suite of brands and products to large-scale brands and media agencies. If you work at a media agency and are looking to make the transition into sales or have past media sales experience and are looking to sell sponsorships for a publisher passionate about empowering young women, this is the perfect role for you.   • Source, develop, and close individual sales large-scale marketing programs with prospect list including custom content, paid media, influencers, sampling, experiential, and market research

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales and activity goals as decided on together with sales leadership

  • Day-to-day, source, develop, and close sales large-scale marketing programs with prospect list including custom content, paid media, influencers, sampling, experiential, and market research

  • Day-to-day, collaborate with cross-department teams including integrated marketing, account management, branded content, influencer marketing, sales planning, and more to build strong marketing proposals, and eventually support running exceptional marketing campaigns once deals are won

  • Nurture relationships with existing clients to generate returning business manage relationships strategically for maximum impact

  • Become a subject matter expert on Gen Z marketing and continue to deepen your product knowledge over time

  • Negotiate pricing and partnership structures

  • 3-5+ years of media sales experience at a publisher or media company OR 3-5+ years of experience in media planning/buying at an agency

  • Proficiency in media industry terms, KPIs, and strategies

  • Exceptional time-management skills and relationship-building both internally with cross-department team members and externally with clients

  • Outstanding communication, presenting, negotiating, and relationship building skills with the ability to articulate and pitch clearly and confidently

  • General understanding of how to meet client marketing objectives through 360-degree campaign recommendations

  • Confidence to think creatively from prospecting to pitching

  • Passionate about women's advancement and Gen Z marketing

Interview Process & Expectations

This is an open position with an ideal start date in October 2021. You can expect 4-5 rounds of interviews, including an initial phone screen and subsequent interviews including a mock pitch to key interview stakeholders.
