Role Overview
As an Eye Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our ophthalmology team by performing administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of licensed physicians. Your work ensures smooth patient care, from preparing patients for examinations to assisting during procedures. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of care our patients expect from Henry Ford Health.

What You Will Do
- Take patient medical histories and record vital signs.
- Measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during exams or surgeries.
- Educate patients on compliance with treatment plans.
- Manage patient information with attention to detail and accuracy.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of initiative.
- Visual, hearing, and verbal abilities to perform detailed tasks and communicate effectively.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and handle small objects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures and equipment.
