General Summary 

Full-Time Benefit Eligible

Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day Shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday 
 

About the Department

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Observation / Clinical Decision Unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in ambulatory patients (ie/ chest pain, TIA, abdominal pain, home falls, etc.).  As an extension of the Emergency Department, we do periodically have our staff float between Emergency and Observation as needed. We are a group of team-oriented Physicians (stationed in the department!), Registered Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians. What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering compassionate patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families.
  • Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
