Role Overview

As a Nurse Assistant Apprentice, you¿ll play a vital role in supporting Registered Nurses (RNs) and licensed clinicians to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. This role is essential in providing hands-on patient care, assisting in care planning, and responding to emergent situations. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of care our patients receive, making this a meaningful and impactful position within our healthcare team.

What You Will Do

• Perform specific patient care duties under the direction of an RN or licensed clinician to meet safety and comfort needs.
• Provide input to assist in planning and implementing patient care.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Uphold the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Enrollment in the HFHS Department of Labor (DOL) approved Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship Program.
• Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, transfer, and move patients as needed.
• Completion of BLS Heart Saver Certification during the apprenticeship program.
