Medical Assistant - Cont

• This is a contingent position to pick up hours on an as needed basis to cover vacations, staff time off, or additional shifts during the busy fall season providing flu shots.
• The hours vary based on the need, but the family medicine clinic is open: 
  • Mondays 8a-8p, Tuesday - Friday 8a-5p, and 3rd Saturday of the month 8a-12p

This is for “HOME” location of 131 Kercheval Ave. Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236. 

However, there is an opportunity to pick up additional hours / shifts from other departments

What You Will Do

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
• Take medical histories and measure/record vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, assisting providers as needed.
• Perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
• Utilize basic computer skills to manage patient records and support clinic operations.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Additional Requirements:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR

  Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR

  Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR

  Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR

  Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
