Join our dynamic Supply Chain team at One Ford Place, the corporate headquarters of Henry Ford Health in Detroit's New Center. Located steps from Amtrak, the QLINE, and the vibrant Fisher Buildings shops and cafes, this role offers a blend of downtown energy and convenience. Our team is dedicated to optimizing inventory management and supporting clinical operations, ensuring seamless product flow in the Operating Room (OR) and procedural environments. We focus on enhancing efficiency, minimizing stockouts, and controlling supply expenses to support our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

Role Overview

As a Point of Use Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting procedural case cart picking and inventory management in the OR. You¿ll ensure accurate documentation of supplies, assist clinicians during procedures, and perform audits to maintain optimal inventory levels. Your work will directly contribute to efficient surgical operations and enhanced patient care by ensuring all necessary supplies are available when needed.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct case cart picking for procedural supplies in the Operating Room inventory locations.
  • Support clinicians, including RN Circulators, Scrub Techs, and Physicians, during procedures.
  • Perform audits and reconciliation after cases to ensure proper documentation and inventory management.
  • Assist with inventory optimization to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the Epic Medical Record during procedures.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure all preference card products are available prior to surgeries.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of prior work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively execute plans, achieve results, and improve overall operations.
  • Strong workflow and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including PeopleSoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based software programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in an Operating Room or Procedural environment, either clinical or Supply Chain oriented.
