Role Overview
As a Leader- Lab Assistant, you will lead a shift or team in performing pre-analytic and post-analytic specimen and order processing. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory procedures and support services. You will train and oversee other lab assistants, fostering a competent and efficient team that delivers reliable results for patient care.
What You Will Do
- Lead a shift or team in pre-analytic and post-analytic specimen and order processing.
- Train and mentor other lab assistants to ensure competency in laboratory procedures.
- Oversee staff in performing routine laboratory procedures and support services.
- Ensure adherence to established procedures and protocols in the assigned laboratory section.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly.
- Demonstrated reliability and self-starter attitude.
- High level of competency in performing all Laboratory Assistant duties relevant to the assigned location.
- Competence and experience in pre-analytic specimen activities, including teaching and mentoring others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with laboratory services.
