Role Overview
As a Private Security Police Officer, you¿ll safeguard Henry Ford Health facilities, protecting people and property from harm or loss. You¿ll guide visitors, patients, and employees, manage disturbances, and ensure timely communication of incidents. Your vigilance and professionalism will be key to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all.

What You Will Do
- Monitor Henry Ford Health facilities to protect people and property from injury or loss.
- Direct visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations.
- Intervene to prevent and control disturbances.
- Keep relevant parties informed of activities, events, and incidents.
- Summon appropriate assistance as necessary.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Currently employed full-time as a police officer in Michigan, or a separated officer in good standing, or an out-of-state officer eligible for reciprocal licensure, or up to one year of security experience at Henry Ford Health, or five years of complex security operations experience, or four years of military experience with Honorable Discharge
- Valid, unexpired Concealed Pistol License
- Valid, unexpired Michigan operator¿s license
- Successful completion of firearms training and state minimum training certification requirements

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), required.
- College degree preferred. Successful completion of a psychological evaluation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age for Security Police Officer-Armed role.
- Currently employed full-time as a police officer within the State of Michigan;
- -OR- A separated officer from full-time service from a police department within the State of Michigan (either retired in good standing, or resigned in good standing);
- -OR- An out-of-state officer currently employed full-time as a police officer and who qualifies to reciprocal licensure as defined by MCOLES;
- -OR- Up to one year of security experience in a Security Officer role at Henry Ford Health;
- -OR- Five plus (5+) years of complex security operations experience;
- -OR- Four plus (4+) years of military experience w/Honorable Discharge.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Work requires the certification under Public Act 330 within the first year of filling this position or at the first certification class offered in the tri county area.
- Valid, unexpired Concealed Pistol License.
- Maintain a valid unexpired Michigan operator’s license.
- Successfully pass firearms training.
- Must satisfactorily complete state minimum training certification requirements and required testing.
- Annual training and testing requirements must be maintained.
