Job Description
The Inpatient Unit for Women’s and Children’s Health which is on the 3rd floor of the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. The nursing staff on 3-Acorn provide professional individual 24-hour care to the following patient populations:
Pediatric patients with ages ranging from birth to 25 years of age.
Postpartum care to female patients and their newborns recovering from birth via caesarean section or vaginal delivery.
Adult female surgical patients who are acutely ill, but hemodynamically stable and in varying stages of preparation for and recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical intervention
Medical care mainly to adult woman with acute and chronic exacerbations of medical conditions.
Role Overview: As a Nurse Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you¿ll provide essential patient care, assist in care planning, and respond to emergent situations. Your contributions directly support our nursing team in delivering exceptional care, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

What You Will Do:
- Provide specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
- Assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
- Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
- Participate in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., PCT, PAT) OR current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CNA certification preferred.
