The Inpatient Unit for Women’s and Children’s Health which is on the 3rd floor of the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. The nursing staff on 3-Acorn provide professional individual 24-hour care to the following patient populations:

• Pediatric patients with ages ranging from birth to 25 years of age.

• Postpartum care to female patients and their newborns recovering from birth via caesarean section or vaginal delivery.

• Adult female surgical patients who are acutely ill, but hemodynamically stable and in varying stages of preparation for and recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical intervention

• Medical care mainly to adult woman with acute and chronic exacerbations of medical conditions. 

Role Overview: As a Nurse Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you¿ll provide essential patient care, assist in care planning, and respond to emergent situations. Your contributions directly support our nursing team in delivering exceptional care, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

What You Will Do:

• Provide specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
• Assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge.

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., PCT, PAT) OR current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of experience in a similar role.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNA certification preferred.
