Role Overview

As a Lab Assistant-Specimen Collect, you'll perform essential laboratory support procedures, including phlebotomy, order entry, specimen processing, point of care testing, and transport. You'll interact with patients, laboratory staff, and caregivers, ensuring a professional and courteous experience. Your work directly contributes to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

What You Will Do

• Collect blood samples, performing phlebotomy for at least 25% of scheduled hours.
• Process and transport laboratory specimens and materials according to established procedures.
• Perform point of care testing and enter orders accurately.
• Interact with patients, laboratory staff, and caregivers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ensure safety and proficiency in handling specimens from patients of all ages.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Minimum of six months experience in phlebotomy
