Role Overview

As a Behavioral Health Technician/Unit Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). You will assist in implementing care management, reinforcing patient education, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients. Your contributions are essential to ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for those on their journey to recovery.

What You Will Do

• Monitor patients and the environment, document observations, and maintain a safe unit.
• Assist with patient activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide comfort and support.
• Take and document patient vital signs, height, and weight as directed.
• Prepare medical records, collect specimens, and assist with laboratory processes.
• Support the multidisciplinary team in developing patient treatment plans.
• Maintain supplies and ensure compliance with infection control and safety policies.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-6 months of previous work experience in a customer service and/or patient service environment.
• Valid Driver's License obtained prior to hire date.
• CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter.
• Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 120 days of hire/transfer date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post high school training as a medical assistant or equivalent.
• Previous training and/or experience in obtaining vital signs.
