Role Overview
As a Medical Assistant, you¿ll play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of providers and nursing leadership. Your administrative and clinical support will ensure smooth patient experiences, from greeting and preparing patients to assisting during examinations and procedures. Your work directly contributes to the exceptional care Henry Ford Health is known for.

What You Will Do
- Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
- Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, following established protocols.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the clinical practice.

What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
- Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
