Job Description
Shift: Afternoons
Status: 40 hours per week
Role Overview
As a Laboratory Assistant Team Lead, you will lead a shift or team to perform pre-analytic and post-analytic specimen and order processing. You will train and oversee other lab assistants, ensuring established procedures are followed in your assigned laboratory section. Your role is vital in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory operations, directly supporting patient care and diagnostic services.
What You Will Do
- Lead and oversee a team of lab assistants in pre-analytic and post-analytic specimen processing.
- Train and mentor staff on laboratory procedures and support services.
- Ensure adherence to established procedures in your assigned laboratory section.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures and support services as needed.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly.
- Demonstrated reliability and self-starter attitude.
- High level of competency in performing all Laboratory Assistant duties relevant to the assigned location.
- Competence and experience in pre-analytic specimen activities, including teaching and mentoring others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Familiarity with laboratory services.
