Role Overview

As a Leader-Ophthalmic Technician-Certified, you will provide leadership to a team of at least four employees while performing ophthalmic technician duties. You¿ll assist ophthalmologists in the clinic setting, conduct specialized diagnostic tests, and ensure accurate patient care. This role is essential in supporting both the clinical team and patients, contributing to the delivery of high-quality eye care services.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership to a staff of at least four employees, mentoring and coaching to enhance their performance.
• Assist ophthalmologists in the clinic setting, performing ophthalmic technician duties 70% of the time.
• Conduct specialized diagnostic tests, including measuring refractive errors and testing ocular motility.
• Manage patient information with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Operate various ophthalmic equipment with precision and manual dexterity.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an ophthalmic technician.
• Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO), or certification as a Certified Orthoptist.
• Ability to obtain CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification within six (6) months of hire date and maintain certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a clinical setting.
• Advanced certification or additional training in ophthalmic specialties.
