Job Description
Float Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery
SCHEDULE: (3) 12-hour shifts per 6-week schedule. Minimum of 1 shift on a weekend, preferably Saturday. Rotating hours of 6a-6:30 pm, or 6pm -6:30 am based on unit needs.

Role Overview
As a Float Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. You will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, ensuring patients and their families receive the support they need. Your role is vital in fostering effective communication within the healthcare team and driving solutions to meet patient goals.

What You Will Do
- Lead the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families.
- Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

Qualifications
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
- NRP by end of department orientation.
Additional Information
Labor and Delivery is a 12 LDR (Labor, Delivery and Recovery) rooms. Care for High-Risk Antepartum patients as well as low risk laboring patients. Henry Ford Providence Southfield has 3 Operating Rooms for surgical deliveries and includes a 4-bed OB-ED for evaluation of pregnant patients for greater than 16 weeks. We have approximately 120 births per month with less than 25% C-Section rate.
