Join the dedicated team at Providence Hospitals, a respected network within Henry Ford Health, serving communities across Oakland County. Our hospitals blend advanced specialty care with deep local roots, offering convenient suburban locations, excellent amenities, and strong community connections. As a Paramedic, you'll play a vital role in our Emergency Medical Services team, providing critical care and support to patients in their most urgent moments.

Role Overview

As a Paramedic, you'll provide essential basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients. Working under the direction of physicians and Registered Nurses, you'll stabilize ill or injured patients, implement interventions, and ensure safe transport. Your role is critical in delivering timely, compassionate care to those in need.

What You Will Do

  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients under physician or Registered Nurse direction.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment.
  • Provide population-specific education to patients and families about illnesses and therapeutic interventions.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure safety for the transport team, patients, and public.

 

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
