Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician at Henry Ford Health, you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. You will support Pharmacists by managing medication dispensing systems, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory. Your work directly impacts patient care by ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery, making you an essential part of the healthcare team.

What You Will Do

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems to ensure medications are readily available.
  • Prepare orders and manage inventory to support the Pharmacy departments operations.
  • Prepare both sterile and non-sterile compounds following strict safety protocols.
  • Repackage bulk medications for efficient distribution and use.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies to maintain a well-organized pharmacy.
  • Triage incoming calls and act as a liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Requires high school diploma or GED
  • Requires a Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Michigan
  • 6 months pharmacy experience preferred
  • Must have the ability use a computer keyboard and type approximately 25 words per minute.
  • Must possess the personality and ability to work with a wide variety of people under sometimes stressful situations.
  • Must be motivated to provide high quality patient care.
