Job Description
The Center for Health Services in Detroit is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Research Project Management I professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as a key coordinator for health services research initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. You will work closely with researchers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support the successful delivery of complex research programs while maintaining the highest standards of organization and attention to detail. - Coordinate and manage multiple research projects simultaneously, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, milestone tracking, resource allocation, and risk identification
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing transparent status updates and managing communications across all teams
- Monitor project progress using analytical methods and identify potential risks or delays; implement decisive corrective actions as needed
- Maintain detailed and organized project documentation, including protocols, meeting minutes, compliance records, and data management systems
- Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure financial accountability and cost efficiency
- Assist with regulatory compliance and ensure all research activities meet institutional and federal guidelines
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, and track decisions with precision
- Support the onboarding and coordination of research team members and external collaborators in a welcoming and inclusive manner
- Analyze project data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement and innovation
- Maintain organized filing systems and databases for project-related information with meticulous attention to detail
- Communicate project outcomes and lessons learned to support continuous organizational learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, public health, or a related field
- 2-4 years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare, research, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities while maintaining quality and organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of research protocols and regulatory compliance requirements in healthcare settings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a goal-oriented mindset
- Experience with budget tracking, financial management, and cost monitoring
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Experience coordinating meetings and managing complex communications
- Familiarity with health services research methodologies (preferred)
- Experience with data management and documentation systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations (preferred)
- Project management certification or professional credential (preferred)
