Job Description

Location: Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital 

Schedule: Contingent Rotating, Hours Between 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Join our dynamic Radiology team as a Radiology Technology Assistant and make a real difference in patient care! Under general supervision, you'll perform a diverse range of clerical, technical, and patient-focused duties that directly impact the patient experience and support our imaging operations. As a key member of our radiology team, you'll be the welcoming face for patients, the helping hand during exams, and the backbone of our daily operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Welcome and check in patients with professionalism and compassion, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience from arrival to departure
  • Prepare patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, answering questions, and helping them feel confident and at ease
  • Provide hands-on assistance during a variety of imaging procedures and exams across multiple radiology modalities
  • Transport patients safely and comfortably between departments and imaging areas
  • Support the radiology team by performing essential clerical tasks and maintaining organized, efficient workflows
  • Educate patients about exam procedures and post-exam care, enhancing their understanding and satisfaction
  • Adapt flexibly to work across different imaging sections and clinical services based on operational priorities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to patient care excellence
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team success and operational needs

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School graduate or equivalent required. 
  • Basic computer knowledge required. 
  • Medical knowledge and terminology preferred. 
  • One (1) year clinical experience preferred. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required upon hire or during orientation to department.
