Job Description
Sign-On Bonus $7,500
Full-Time Benefit Eligible
Shift: 36 hours per week, night shift 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Unit Description:
The Inpatient Pediatric Acute Care Unit is a 32-bed service designed to provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients from birth through age 21 and into young adulthood. Services include general medical care, led by certified pediatric hospitalists and specialists, as well as surgical services such as general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, urology, neurosurgery, and ear, eye, nose, and throat procedures, among others. The unit offers a holistic, family-centered healing environment supported by an Activity Center led by certified Child Life Specialists. Pediatric support services include social work, discharge planning, Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners, pediatric pharmacy and nutrition expertise, and pediatric specialty respiratory therapy.
