Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: As a Cook at Henry's Cafe, you'll be the heart of our kitchen—crafting delicious, nutritious meals that nourish our patients and delight our cafeteria guests. You'll maintain the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This is your opportunity to make a real difference in patient care while showcasing your culinary expertise every single day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare high-quality hot meals that meet nutritional and dietary requirements for patient care and cafeteria service
- Lead menu planning initiatives that balance nutrition, patient preferences, and operational efficiency
- Oversee and coordinate job assignments, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and team collaboration
- Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all health regulations
- Mentor and support kitchen team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Manage food inventory and preparation processes to minimize waste while maximizing quality
Qualifications
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
Ready to bring your culinary skills to the table? Here's what we're looking for:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (the foundation is important!)
- At least one year of hands-on cooking experience OR a Culinary Program graduation under your belt
- **Bonus points:** Five (5) years of kitchen experience—but don't worry if you're just getting started!
