Schedule: Day shift, 40 Hours Per Week
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Team Lead RN - Operating Room coordinates activities of staff in the operating room and provides oversight for front line staff in collaboration with O.R. leadership. Serves as liaison between surgeon, operating room staff, and management, addressing questions and issues related to procedures and surgeon preferences. Coordinates day-to-day operational needs by setting priorities, planning for staffing needs, and coordinating work across other teams. Provides guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members while contributing to employment decisions and performance reviews.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures compliance with operating room policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements specific to ENT and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialties
- Oversees inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply chain coordination to support surgical operations
- Mentors and develops nursing staff through ongoing education, skill development, and performance coaching
- Communicates with surgical teams regarding case requirements, preferences, and special considerations to optimize surgical workflow
- Monitors and maintains operating room efficiency, including case turnaround times and scheduling optimization
- Participates in staff scheduling, coverage planning, and shift coordination to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Ensures adherence to infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and patient safety standards
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to continuous process enhancement within the operating room
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. BSN Preferred. Two to three (2-3) years of relevant acute care nursing experience required. A member of AORN organization preferred. Actively participates in the O.R. Shared Governance Council or Committee. Current licensure by the State of Michigan as a registered nurse required. ACLS preferred. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

This team lead will support the ENT/OMFS service line. We are operational 24 hours per day, working either 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts.Why join our team?
