Job Description
Department: Rehab
Location: Henry Ford-Providence Hospital, Novi Campus, 47601 Grand River, Suite A-201
Schedule: Contingent - Shifts available on weekdays 7:30a-4pm to help cover schedule. Evening hours available but not mandated. Increased weekend shifts available but not mandated. Minimum requirement: Two weekend day shifts per month. In addition, Two Holidays per year and Two Hard-to-fill days per year.
Shift: 7:30a-4pm
Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.
PRINCPLE DUTIES & RESPONSBITLIES:
- Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
- Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
- Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress.
- Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
- Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: - Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Acute Care Experience preferred; however, willing to train the right new graduate candidate.
