Job Description

Department: Float Staffing 

Location: Henry Ford Rochester - 1101 W University Drive Rochester, MI 48307

Schedule: Days / Contingent 

Shift: 7a-7p

    The Unit Secretary is responsible for all clerical and reception duties associated with the unit to which they are assigned. The Unit Secretary follows the Henry Ford Health Systems Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions. 

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
    • Previous experience as a unit secretary preferred.
    • One year in healthcare setting such as medical office, hospital or laboratory.

    Additional Information

    Contingent requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 shifts per 6-week schedule period.
    • Maximum of 96 hours prescheduled in a 6-week period.
    • Shifts are 12 hours in length.
    • Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday 1500 – Monday 0730)
    • Must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday Summer: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Winter: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year’s Day
      • Will also work one of the following shifts: Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, or the Day after Christmas
