Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a Nurse Assistant in our Float Pool, you'll be the vital link between patients and our clinical team. Working under the direction of our Registered Nurses, you'll deliver compassionate patient care while ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. You'll be an active partner in care planning, bringing valuable frontline insights to team discussions and responding confidently to dynamic patient situations. Your commitment to continuous learning and our Team Member Standards of Excellence will make a real difference in patients' lives every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver Direct Patient Care: Perform venipuncture and blood draws with precision, monitor and record vital signs, and conduct chemstick testing to support accurate patient assessments
  • Collaborate on Care Planning: Participate actively in team roundings and contribute meaningful observations that help shape individualized patient care strategies
  • Communicate with Purpose: Identify and promptly report patient concerns, safety observations, and team needs to the responsible RN, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Respond with Confidence: Handle emergent situations skillfully by following established protocols and supporting the clinical team when patients need us most
  • Embrace Professional Growth: Actively engage in continuing education opportunities to expand your clinical skills and advance your nursing career

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • CNA preferred, One year of experinece preferred. 
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g.,
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)
  • OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
  • OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license.
  • OR Completion of a Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.
  • OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation
