Job Description

Successful law firm seeks a full time IT Helpdesk Coordinator.  Candidate must be available to work on site at the downtown Chicago office. This position requires a highly motivated, organized professional capable of functioning in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment supporting the main office and seven satellite offices. Reports to: Managing Partners/Office Manager/IT Manager

Job purpose:

To ensure the streamline operation of IT in alignment with the Firm’s business objectives as to minimize technology costs while maximizing production of personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Assist IT Managed services company with planning, implementing, and maintaining the addition, deletion, and major modifications to network to include network security at both firm and local levels, databases, servers, and technology infrastructure.

·         Liaison with IT Managed services company on helpdesk issues and escalating helpdesk issues when appropriate. 

·         Communications with staff office or Firm wide on IT issues and resolutions.

·         Overseeing the firm’s telephone system Firm wide to include new employees, changes in seating assignments, as well as trouble shooting / repair of issues as needed.

·         Assist IT Managed services company with maintaining internal software systems to include system back-ups, archiving of data, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting individual issues as they arise as to maintain all system communications within the Firm as a whole.

·         Coordinates the purchase/lease of IT supplies throughout the Firm, including building and maintaining vendor relationships for office equipment including printers/copiers/scanners, faxes, iPhones, and Dictaphones to ensure the firm’s assets are maintained properly.

·         Support liaison for Firm attorneys for all iPhone requests/issues/needs.

·         Coordinate with the Office Manager to develop training at all levels for new personnel as well as ongoing training for new technologies and enhancing comfort level of current personnel with Firm software/technologies.

·         Research processes/technologies to minimize operational costs within the firm and maximize work production of personnel at all levels.

·         Any special tasks or projects as assigned by Managing Partners or Office Manager.

·         Availability for after-hours support as needed or for projects. Ability to work on site at downtown Chicago office and travel on site to Midwest satellite offices as needed.

·         Other IT duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education, Skills and Qualifications:

·         High School diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

·         1- 2 years of IT Helpdesk experience, preferably supporting a legal office.

·         Preferred knowledge of in Group Policy, Active Directory, AppLocker, Windows Firewall, Windows 10/Server 2016, NTFS permissions, BitLocker, MS Office 365/2016, IE 11, MS Edge, and Google Chrome.  Ability to learn Firm software, Time Matters and Big Hand as evidenced by experience.

·         Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.

·         Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.

·         Excellent telephone and writing, skills.

·         Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
