Help Resourcing Limited are working with an award winning, family run retail company. They have stores in London and Hertfordshire with over 280 staff and sell 22,000 different building, electrical, plumbing and DIY products to the construction industry.

They are a family run organisation who offer a very competitive package with great prospects within the company. They are also extremely well established with nearly 40 years experience in the industry. They have a modern bright head office in North West London and are looking for Marketing Officer & Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team.

Job Title: Buyer

Location: Kilburn NW6 7JR

Job Profile

Working with the purchasing director, buyer and the wider commercial and procurement team, the buyer will be expected to lead and support a wide range of procurement tasks.

The role will involve management of current suppliers, their stock profiles in branch, their cost price file and any other function involved in the procurement process.

The role will involve researching new and existing suppliers, and presenting findings, and recommendations to the business.

The buyer will be expected to manage and own a specific category for the business, whilst assisting with the business as a whole

Basic Skill Set

·A sound knowledge and understanding of the builder’s merchant industry.

·A sound commercial understanding of cost and margin management.

·A sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (word and Excel as a minimum)

·The ability able to establish a good working relationship with all our supplier partners

·The ability to interact with both internal and external colleagues

·Proven negotiating skills

·Good personal organisational skills, displaying the ability to prioritise between various competing tasks.

·Understands the importance of meeting deadlines

·Demonstrates initiative, and be capable of working alone when required

·Good communication skills, both written and oral.


Responsibilities to include

·Managing supplier accounts, stock profiles and relationships

·Manage stock levels, and dead / aged stock

·Establish relationships with supplier peers

·Support internal team with current / new workload and projects

·Research and use existing data to assist decision / suggestion making

·Research the external market to assist decision / suggestion making

·Evaluate suppliers offering and compare with current / similar ranges

·Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner

·Monitor own projects and report periodically on performance

Package

  • Salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience (also considering Junior buyers £25-30k)
