Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Google and Slack Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale, multi-year transformation programme focused on modernising collaboration tools, ensuring platform resilience, and enabling strategic carve-out scenarios. This role sits at the intersection of technology architecture, collaboration tooling strategy, and programme delivery, ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable integration and transition of Google Workspace, Slack, and associated ecosystems within a highly regulated environment.
What you will do:
- Serve as primary SME for Google Workspace, Slack, and cross-platform integrations including identity, security, messaging, and workflow automation.
- Provide technical direction on platform assessments, migrations, coexistence architectures, and operational design.
- Define future-state collaboration architecture aligned to programme objectives and enterprise standards.
- Lead discovery workshops with business stakeholders, engineering teams, security, and risk partners.
- Analyse existing collaboration environments, identify gaps, and assess platform readiness for transformation or separation scenarios.
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications and architectural artefacts.
- Define integration patterns across Slack, Google Workspace, and core enterprise systems including IAM, DLP, monitoring, and workflow tools.
- Design Slack Enterprise Grid configurations, Google Workspace governance controls, and identity and access integrations.
- Support API-based automation and workflow integration across collaboration platforms.
- Ensure compliance with data residency, retention, and regulatory requirements during migrations and carve-out activities.
- Ensure solutions align with security, regulatory, and audit standards.
- Provide design assurance through governance forums and architectural review boards.
- Identify risks early and define mitigation strategies aligned to programme timelines.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, delivery teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
- Support delivery planning, dependency tracking, and risk and issue management related to collaboration platforms.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with Slack Enterprise Grid including workspace strategy, enterprise key management, user provisioning, DLP, eDiscovery, retention, and compliance.
- Strong expertise in Google Workspace including Gmail, Drive, Docs, IAM, Admin Console, and shared drives.
- Experience designing and implementing integration patterns using APIs, event frameworks, and third-party connectors.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security controls, identity management protocols such as SAML and OAuth, and platform governance.
- Proven experience working on large-scale transformation programmes, ideally within financial services.
- Experience supporting carve-outs, separation programmes, or platform migrations.
- Ability to define roadmaps, architectural models, and target-state designs.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to influence senior audiences.
- Experience engaging with architecture boards, security leadership, delivery teams, and business stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications in Google Workspace or Slack administration preferred.
- Familiarity with Atlassian, O365, or other collaboration ecosystems preferred.
- Architectural certifications such as TOGAF or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience within regulated or global enterprise environments preferred.
