Job Description

About the role

We’re now looking for a Customer Care Specialist – Front of House (Day) to be the face of our Edinburgh property and play a key role in delivering a great living experience for our residents, and supporting day-to-day operations.

As the first point of contact in the building, you’ll create a warm and professional environment for residents, visitors, and contractors. You’ll combine customer service, practical problem-solving, and day-to-day operational support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Working hours are 7am to 7pm on a four-on, four-off rolling rota, covering Monday to Sunday. This includes regular weekend shifts and bank holidays as part of the standard working pattern.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll balance front desk responsibilities with building checks, resident support, maintenance tasks, and coordination of services.

Key Responsibilities

This is a hands-on, operational role that goes beyond traditional front-of-house duties, with responsibility for maintaining building standards, acting as the first point of response on shift, and serving as the eyes and ears of the building. A more detailed job description will be shared.

  • Welcome and support residents, visitors, and contractors, ensuring a positive experience at all times
  • Handle resident enquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage parcels and deliveries securely and efficiently
  • Carry out regular building and safety checks, ensuring everything is in good working order
  • Monitor CCTV and control access to maintain a safe environment
  • Support basic maintenance tasks and respond to issues proactively
  • Coordinate access for repairs, services, and deliveries
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure smooth handovers between shifts
  • Support viewings, inspections, and community activities when needed
  • Along with more tasks as needed in this dynamic environment!

Qualifications

You enjoy helping people and take pride in creating a welcoming environment. You’re practical, reliable, and comfortable taking initiative when needed.

We think you’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Basic level of education
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, property, or a similar role
  • Previous experience with CCTV systems, access control, or building security is desirable
  • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with different people
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Basic technical or maintenance awareness (or willingness to learn)
  • Good IT skills, specifically in the Microsoft Office package, and the ability to learn new systems
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
  • Qualifications such as First Aid, Health & Safety, or ARLA are beneficial but not essential
