Referral specialists are verifying what members are covered for under their health plan (verifying eligibility) and assisting with getting authorizations/approvals for services to be performed.

Daily Responsibilities:  

• Initiate authorization requests for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list. Route to appropriate staff when needed

• Verify eligibility and benefits

• Answer phone queues and process faxes within established standards

• Data enters authorizations into the system

Hours for this Position:

• Mondays 7:00am-7:00pm

• Tuesday-Friday 8:00am – until work is done (wouldn’t normally go past 6:00pm)
