Health Complaints Officer
- Full-time
Company Description
Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we commenced providing health, mental health and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team, which includes nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals, offer a wide range of healthcare services to detainees, including but not limited to health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion and targeted population health education, medication, wound management, immunisation, and other primary health clinical interventions. HCA also introduced a Virtual Care Centre (VCC), a 24/7 service that provides remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations, helping to enhance onsite care for detainees.
- Full time position
- A newly created role - your opportunity to shape and influence
- Hybrid working conditions - up to 2 days from home
As our Consumer Liaison Officer, you will lead the complaints management process within our onshore Immigration Detention Network, with a strong focus on partnering with our key facility healthcare leaders to identify themes that drive continuous improvement.
This is a strategic and analytical role suited to someone with experience in healthcare quality, compliance, or medicolegal processes. You'll work closely with Health Service Managers across multiple detention sites, supporting them to manage and respond to consumer feedback at a local level. Your primary focus will be on:
Implementing and overseeing the complaints management process
Aggregating and analysing complaint data to identify systemic trends
Reporting on insights to inform quality improvement initiatives
Ensuring the process complies with legislative and accreditation standards
About you!
Bring your strong background in quality improvement, compliance, clinical governance, medicolegal, or health services management. You have high-level written communication and analytical skills and are comfortable interpreting complaint themes to inform service improvements. This role suits someone comfortable with complex and or regulated environments such as Immigration Detention. Clinical experience is an advantage, but also not a requirement.
