Job Description

Bethesda, a long-term acute care specialty hospital, or LTACH is currently hiring a Clinical Manager. We're different from traditional hospitals (short-term acute care facilities). While we deliver acute hospital-level care, we also offer integrated programs for our patients whose illnesses or injuries have long-term effects. As a Clinical Manager you'll lead in the management of the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure the department meets the needs and expectation of HealthEast and its customers. Assists Clinical Director with personnel management within the department to achieve quality services and positive employee relations. Communicates with nursing staff, Medical Directors, and Clinical Director to ensure effective relay of information pertinent to department operations. Communicates with customers to ensure effective relay of information relevant to delivery of patient care and department functions.

Assists in the provision of fiscal management for department operation to ensure proper utilization of financial resources. Assists Director with personnel issues to ensure effective management of staff-related concerns. Assists Director with department operation to ensure continuity of mission statement implementation.

Identifies varying patient age groups to ensure patient needs are addressed. Provides staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job to ensure appropriate maintenance of all privacy related issues and performs other duties as assigned.
   





Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related health care field, or equivalent experience and education. Current license to practice nursing in the state of Minnesota. Current American Heart Assoc. Basic Life Support certification.

Experience:
Minimum one to two years supervisory experience and two to four years as staff nurse. Prefer experience in Process Improvement/Quality Improvement process. Prior critical care or emergency dept. experience preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
Demonstrates leadership and managerial skills; working knowledge of interdepartmental relationships;
Knowledge and ability to direct and manage departmental functions; good communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
