Job Description

This role is with a niche law firm in Stansted Mountfitchet who take great pride in offering a fast, pro-active and effective solution to their clients - genuinely meeting the needs of those whom they represent, rather than being profit-focused first.

They specialise in transport law and are now looking for an Assistant Solicitor to help support their caseload due to ongoing growth.

Working with a small team and reporting directly to the firms Managing Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking fee earning work for commercial and private clients, regarding transport, employment and civil matters
  • Assisting the Directors and other fee earners in the firm where necessary
  • Contributing to the business development of the practice
  • Ensuring a high standard of care at all times, with efficient note taking and time recording
  • Working closely with Accounts to manage credit control on client matters
  • Ensuring utmost confidentiality, professionalism and clear communication 
  • Actively promoting the services of the practice, it's image and ethos

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, here's the qualifications you'll need:

  • 1-3+ years PQE - you'll need to be a qualified Solicitor
  • Demonstratable experience / understanding of working towards billing and time recording targets in a similar fee earning role
  • Civil litigation or Criminal experience, and / or Employment law experience would be a great match
  • If you have experience in transport law, this would be a huge plus!
