He aha te tūranga - About the role:

Hato Hone St John is embarking on an exciting large-scale ERP implementation this year! We are looking for a finance professional to play a critical part in shaping the finance function in the new system - Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central). This is an 8-month fixed term opportunity (until December 2026) focused specifically on documenting and designing finance processes — ensuring they reflect strong accounting practice, robust controls, and practical day-to-day usability.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting background who understands how finance functions truly operate, and can translate that into clear, structured process documentation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the mapping of end-to-end finance processes (e.g. AR, AP), ensuring alignment with accounting best practice

  • Design clear, structured future-state process flows aligned to the new system

  • Develop detailed SOPs and process documentation for finance teams

  • Ensure financial controls, compliance requirements, and governance obligations are appropriately embedded

  • Partner with the implementation team to validate system configuration against finance requirements

  • Support change readiness by providing clear, practical documentation for end users

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

  • A proven background in Finance and Accounting (e.g., Auditor, Financial Accountant). This is essential. CA qualification is advantageous.

  • Solid knowledge of financial controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience documenting finance processes — including process mapping and SOP development

  • Exposure to ERP or system implementations, ideally supporting finance work streams.

  • Ability to translate operational workflows into structured, logical process flows

  • Confident engaging with finance stakeholders and understanding operational realities

  • Prior experience with Business Central is highly regarded.
