Are you a motivated and experienced coordinator with a passion for fundraising and grant writing? This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Hato Hone St John dedicated Fundraising Team and play a key role in driving the success of our Grants and Trusts programme.
In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Grants and Trusts function, through researching and completing funding applications, building meaningful relationships with funders, and helping to secure vital income that supports our mission. Working closely with the Grant Fundraising Lead, you’ll contribute directly to the growth and sustainability of our programmes. This is a 7-month fixed-term role to provide cover for a secondment, perfect for someone ready to step into a dynamic environment, make a meaningful difference, and further develop their fundraising expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand grant-seeking opportunities, manage applications, ensure the correct spending of grants funds, submission of accountability reports and effective database management
- Facilitate relationships with external customers to promote and acquire new grant funding opportunities
- Administer the grants programme and maintain the grants calendar
- Ensure stakeholders are effectively engaged and relationships are managed
- Use a consultative approach to further identify needs and add value with relevant product and service solutions
- Proactively research relevant Trusts and Grant opportunities

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in fundraising or working with a charity and a sound understanding of fundraising principles and managing customer relationships is an advantage but not a requirement
- An understanding of donor and supporter motivations through appeals would also be an advantage.
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- High level of customer focus and a professional attitude including an excellent telephone manner and experience of dealing directly with customers’ enquiries and resolving any issues
- A team player who is flexible, adaptable, able to work autonomously and willing to assist other staff members
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral (including listening)
- Excellent computer competency (Microsoft Office, MS Excel, CRM/donor management systems)
