Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

The Major Incident Support Team (MIST) plays a crucial role in ensuring that Hato Hone St John delivers a world-leading response during major incidents and large events. The MIST Volunteer Team Manager provides leadership, direction, and management support to these team volunteers.  The Major Incident Support Volunteer Team Manager will provide volunteers with mentoring, support, and guidance.  

Additionally:

  • Conduct as well as participate in training.
  • Manage the roster of MIST volunteers to ensure 24/7 availability of the resource and a maximum 30 minute deployment time frame. 
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Please note this is a non-clinical, volunteer role.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current, clean full NZ Driver's Licence
  • A First Aid certificate
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • To be flexible, resilient and able to maintain performance under pressure
  • To be physically fit
  • To be 18 years of age or over
  • New Zealand citizenship, permanent resident or resident status
