Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

Our Op Shop teams do fantastic work in the community selling affordable pre-loved goods, and this helps to fund our essential, lifesaving services and community initiatives. They have created friendly, supportive community hubs, offering much-needed local services and even help New Zealand to be more environmentally sustainable - more recycling means less landfill!

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in the storage shed located 2 mins from the store.

What's involved?

You will be supporting to deliver and pick up pre-loved goods in Thames, helping to keep the storage area clean and tidy, and operating the ragging machine to rag cotton clothing (training will be provided). Ideally you will have a good level of physical fitness, as the role will involve lifting and moving furniture.

Ko wai koe - About you:

We're looking for caring individuals keen to give back to their community.  Retail experience is great but not essential.  If you're keen to learn, enthusiastic and reliable, then we can teach you the skills you need.  

Additional Information

The recruitment process will involve:

  • an interview with the store manager
  • a criminal record check 
  • Optional: If your role is to involve driving (e.g. donation pick ups) we will also check that you have a current, full NZ Driver License
