He aha te tūranga - About the role:
We are now seeking a Technology Advisor to join our busy Field and Communications team on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role is based from our Mount Wellington, Auckland office.
In this role you will provide technical support with a particular focus on communications technologies for vehicles and buildings so as to ensure efficient day to day support of ambulance operations.
- Provide specialist technical advice and support to ensure the continuation of 24/7 operations of the business. Activities include enrol, set up, program and decommission of devices eg radios, routers, tablets and BCP phones.
- Maintain and manage station, hospital and events communications equipment.
- Identify constraints, issues and risks to the business, investigate technical improvements and make recommendations with the goal of resolving ongoing problems.
- Build and maintain relationships of credibility and trust with internal customers and the wider Digital & Data teams.

This role would suit a tech-savvy individual who might be looking for a change of scene or new challenge!
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Familiarity with emergency services communications technologies for radio, paging and cellular services. Knowledge of Hato Hone St John operations adventagious.
- Experience as a technical or radio systems engineer, or similar technical or BA background is desirable.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions at levels appropriate to the audience.
- Strong team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Ability to manage numerous and often competing priorities.
- Resilient and positive attitude with desire to grow and develop professionally.
