Job Description
He aha te tūranga - About the role:
In this role, you will support the local team of Volunteer Community Educators that deliver our 3 Steps for Life Programme to guide their induction and provide ongoing support. You will create opportunities for them to connect, share and build knowledge, and foster the sense of belonging in a local team.
We're looking for volunteers in the following areas so that you can bring your local knowledge with you:
- Northland – Kaitaia & Kerikeri
- Northland – Whangārei & Ruakākā
- Taranaki
- Bay of Plenty
- Waipā/King Country
- Blenheim
- Dunedin
- Otago
This role can be completed from home and simply as the work is required. Occasional travel and face-to-face engagement will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
You will also:
- Provide or facilitate mentoring and support to Volunteer Community Educators.
- Create and promote opportunities to increase the pool and diversity of Volunteer Educators.
- Identify and coordinate local Volunteer Educator training and connection opportunities.
- Support volunteers as the first point of contact for educator queries and questions.
- Have face to face engagement with volunteers as necessary, including some coordination of assets/collateral required for the programme.
Qualifications

Your communication skills and ability to build strong relationships will be key in this role.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills.
- Resilience and empathy
- An interest in partnering with local communities to attract and develop Community Educators.
- A genuine desire to contribute to better health outcomes for Aotearoa.
- You may want to train to deliver the 3 Steps for Life programme however, this is not mandatory.
