Due to the complexity of our organisation and nature of our business, we require a Solution Specialist to provide technical leadership and support, focused on critical communications technologies, platforms and applications to support the efficient operational day to day activity of our ambulance communications staff and identify opportunities for improvement or enhancement. In this 12-month, fixed-term position, you will:
- Provide a high level of specialist technical advice and support, so as to ensure the continuation of the 24 / 7 operations of the business.
- Champion and drive technical improvements with the goal to resolve ongoing problems
- Assist with the design and undertake builds and integration of technical solutions that meet both the ICT architectural and business requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships of credibility and trust with internal customers, acting on an informed understanding of the business and the external environment in order to provide consistently professional, informed advice and support across the assigned portfolio(s).
- Identify issues, and risks (actual and potential) to the business, and make recommendations to resolve and facilitated in their resolution.
- Provide senior Digital and Data leaders with information and options, through having an in depth knowledge of the operation and up to date knowledge of market information and best practice, so as to help inform decision making.
- Contribute to the production of the solutions and improvements roadmap so as to resolve business issues and constraints.
- Build and maintain relationship with third party vendors, ensuring that our vendors understand our business and are providing the best support and solutions for St John.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. University technology qualification or Technical Institute qualification or proven experience at a senior level in mobile workforce technologies as applied to the Ambulance sector
- ITIL / Service Management preferred. ITIL V3 – desirable
- Significant experience as an ICT Technical Systems engineer or similar
- Specialist knowledge of operating systems, device, applications and software
- Experience managing telephony systems preferred
- Ability to explain application issues across all levels of stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – including ability to explain technical concepts in easy-to-understand language for non-technicians.
- Experience working in a 24/7/365 organisation as occasional work out of ‘normal work hours’ hours is expected.
