Job Description

Our Community Education team provides learning experiences for primary and intermediate school-aged children to empower them for life. Community Educators visit schools to offer young people life skills that prepare them for the future.
- 32 hours per week
- Flexibility on the hours/days Monday-Friday
- Work use car provided
- $28 per hour
This is a fantastic permanent part-time role. There's great flexibility to plan and schedule your working week of 4 days (32hrs). Programme delivery will be within school opening hours, however, any planning, preparation, and admin can be done at a time that suits you.
This role will work across the Auckland region, delivering two distinct education programmes which serve different purposes, both of which are equally vital. Please use the links below for more information on each programme.
Our two programmes:
- Whātuia te Waiora (Weaving Wellbeing) - a mental health module for Year 7&8 students
- St John in Schools - first aid training to tamariki of all ages
With both curricula already designed, you will be responsible for providing a vibrant, high-energy programme that captures the attention and interest of our tamariki and inspires them to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
To be successful in this role, you'll bring the following skills and experience
- A passion for working with young people and engaging them in a meaningful way
- Understanding and appreciation of different cultures and diverse learning styles
- Genuine interest in developing our tamariki
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Full NZ driving license
- Whilst not essential, a basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori is highly desirable
