He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

As a core member of the Finance & Business Insights Leadership Team (FBILT) you will lead our financial systems, reporting and accounting teams to provide accurate, timely financial information and ensuring compliance and alignment with New Zealand accounting standards. Working collaboratively, you will contribute thought leadership and insights to finance discussions and decision making, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence within the finance function.

  • Oversee monthly financial reporting processes, ensuring outputs are accurate and meet compliance standards.
  • Manage statutory & regulatory reporting, tax compliance, investment management, insurance and treasury functions, maintaining a high level of integrity across all financial operations.
  • Ensure the integrity, maintenance and management of the financial systems.
  • Provide excellence in change leadership to lead and support the financial control and wider teams to implement desired change.
  • Guide capability-building efforts within the team, setting clear roles and responsibilities in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare papers for Risk & Audit Committee and the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

Are you a detail-oriented finance leader looking to bring your skills and expertise to a truly purposeful organisation? Success will require the following:

  • Membership of CAANZ or equivalent
  • Significant experience in finance disciplines and team leadership at a senior leadership level.
  • Significant experience in complex financial reporting, consolidations and application of financial reporting standards. 
  • Demonstrated experience in setting finance frameworks, policies, standards and leading this from design to implementation in a medium to large organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial system implementation and driving best practise outcomes and efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability in developing relationships across a business
